Big declines in Atlantic Salmon leads to questions about what happens out at sea

Concerns about the big decline of the iconic Atlantic Salmon in Britain's river systems are leading scientists to investigate what happens to this iconic fish while it's out to sea, with, on average, only 3% of fish leaving the river returning to spawn and this figure has regularly dropped below 1%. If the decline continues, wild Atlantic salmon will disappear from UK rivers in the next 30 years.

BOSKER TO MARKET J+A IN THE NETHERLANDS

Jacopa's long-standing close relationship with Machinefabriek Bosker en Zonen BV (Bosker) has been further strengthened with a landmark agreement for Bosker to represent Jacopa's premier Jones + Attwood product line in the Netherlands.

jacopa bosker netherlands copyJacopa holds the sole right to distribute the Dutch company's highly-regarded Bosker trashrakes in the UK and Ireland municipal water and wastewater markets, and Bosker already provides aftermarket services for Jones + Attwood equipment installed at wastewater treatment works in the Netherlands.

The Jones + Attwood brand is synonymous with reliability and robustness, and the extensive range of products includes the well-known and widely-installed Washpactor system, tough, reliable screw classifiers and the high-performance JETA grit trap.

Jacopa Managing Director, Alex Lloyd said: "We are delighted with the new agreement, which strengthens our existing excellent working relationship with Bosker, one of Europe's top names in wastewater treatment. Given the extensive installed base of Jones & Attwood plant in the Netherlands, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from wastewater treatment service providers about their Jones & Attwood solutions, this is a logical next step in our relationship. We look forward to further success together."

Machinefabriek Bosker en Zonen BV Director, Dick Bosker comments: "The Jones + Attwood brand is justly famed for its reliability and high performance, and we have found that it is very highly regarded in the Netherlands. During our existing support activities, utilities have provided great feedback on these products, and their reputation means they fit very well with our own well-respected solutions."
